After Your Wedding, Why Not Flush $2500 Down The Drain?

One of the hottest trends in the wedding industry this year has been the phenomenon known as “[tag]Trash The Dress[/tag]“. This is basically a style of wedding photo that is far different than the traditional style of wedding photograph. The website http://trashthedress.wordpress.com has received over 1 million hits as of the date of this post.

In Trash The Dress style [tag]wedding photography[/tag], brides are shot in very unusual circumstances that many times makes for a much more artsy type of shot. For example, a bride may be in the middle of a pumpkin patch gutting a pumpkin. There have also been some photos of brides floating in the middle of swampy water. The absolute craziest trash the dress photo EVER was a [tag]bride[/tag] who set the back of her wedding dress on fire! That’s just going way too far!

The key for taking a Trash The Dress photo is making it much more about the photograph and the art of photography than it is about the wedding dress. But why in the world would you want to trash your wedding dress?

Well, if you head on over to http://trashthedress.wordpress.com/why-trash-the-dress/ you will see that they say there is no reason in preserving the dress because your daughter will not want to wear it in 20-30 years. While this may be true, there are other things you can do with your wedding dress after the wedding. Check out our post What To Do With Your Wedding Dress After The Wedding Is Over And Done With.

A good alternative to ruining a great dress would be giving it away to someone who may not have the money to pay for a dress. Or why not just sell it. The bottom line is that women spend too much money on there wedding dresses, just to ruin them and throw them away.

But the one good thing about Trash The Dress photos, is that if done correctly, they make for some AMAZING photos.
