The 5 Most Popular Wedding Trends of 2007

best wedding trends of 2007

As 2007 comes to a close, we wanted to take a look at some of the more popular trends of the year. Here is a small list of some of the most popular [tag]wedding trends of 2007[/tag].

Unique Wedding Locations. There was a strong trend of wedding locations moving away from the traditional wedding in a chapel and moving towards more unique locations. Venues such as lavish country clubs and enormous medieval castles were chosen to replace the tradition wedding setting. Even more unique than these venues was the “roof top” wedding, which produced the most gorgeous pictures of city skylines that you could imagine. Just something to think about for the brides getting married in ’08.

Destination Weddings. This trend sort of ties into the first trend that has been mentioned. [tag]Destination weddings[/tag] have been on the rise for a couple of years now and 2007 was no different. It may be attributed to the easy transition from wedding to reception to honeymoon. It is a good bet that destination weddings will continue to rise in ’08.

Cocktail Hour. The cocktail hour is the time period in a wedding between the ceremony and the reception. It is a time when your guest mingle, chit chat and maybe have an adult beverage or two.

Trash the Dress. This trend has REALLY taken off and is a big hit with many brides. [tag]Trash the Dress[/tag] is where a bride takes pictures in her wedding dress in very unusual places. Nothing is off limits when you trash your wedding dress. There have been pictures of everything from the bride floating in a moat to a bride that has been set on fire. This trend looks to get even stronger next year. We’re not to thrilled about the trash the dress trend (click the link to read more) but one thing we can say is that some of the pictures are absolutely amazing!

07.07.07. We believe that this was the #1 trend of 2007 and that was brides that choose to be married on July 7, 2007. This date is considered to be one of the luckiest days to be married on. We even saw that a few famous celebs (Tony and Eva) got married on this date. If you believe in luck and you were fortunate enough to be married on this date, good for you. If not, you’ll have to wait around for another 100 years :)
